The 90th Texas Legislature is an opportunity to do what Texas philanthropy has long championed: ensuring every Texas student has an education that equips them to pursue their dreams and achieve lifelong economic mobility.
Texas has built real momentum to draw on. The passage of HB 2 (2025) — a landmark $8.5 billion school finance package with investments across the entire K-12 system, including teacher preparation and pay— demonstrated what is possible when the state uses data and research to provide new funding for students, teachers, and schools. As we head into 2027, that same rigor and ambition can extend across the full student experience, from early education through postsecondary, turning individual policy wins into a coherent, high-quality system.
