Comments to TEA on Proposed Rules for the Teacher Incentive Allotment

In HB 2, Texas lawmakers took meaningful steps to pay teachers more and invest in the long-term strength of the educator workforce. One component of that effort was expansions to the Teacher Incentive Allotment, including the creation of the Enhanced Teacher Incentive Allotment, prompting updates to the rules governing the broader TIA system. As TEA works to implement these changes, the details of rulemaking will shape how these reforms reach classrooms. Below are the written comments we, along with 11 other organizations submitted to the agency outlining support for these changes and where we see opportunities to strengthen implementation of the program.
